    This is one of the toughest challenges in starting a business. While the name must be meaningful to the owner and the customer, it must also be memorable and easy to say. Whew!

    Every now and then we encounter company names that are weird or have origins that make sense only to the owner, like Apple. It is said that Steve Jobs told his partners that if they didn’t have a name figured out by launch deadline that he would name the company after his favorite fruit. They didn’t, and he did. Lesson: when what you offer is earth-shaking and amazing, you can name your company whatever you want.
