You probably have a nice long To Do List for your business. It provides focus and helps you keep track of projects and actions you intend to take. But, have you ever considered a Don’t Do List?
What you choose not to do can also bring clarity and focus to your life and work as well. Where is your time slipping away? What do you do that drains your energy? Are you spending time on things that are not in alignment with your values?
Are you:
- Agreeing to things you don’t really want to do
- Procrastinating
- Starting your days without a plan
- Letting yourself get distracted instead of staying focused
- Getting together with friends and calling it business
- Spending more time than needed checking Facebook or your phone
Creating a Don’t Do list reinforces what you Do want to create.. Whenever you eliminate something you don’t want space is created for something new to come forward. I encourage you to identify and let go of your Don’t Do’s and start focusing on what is most effective and will bring you closer to your dreams.

[…] To Do or Not To Do – That is the Question […]
It is not about what you do. It is about who you are being. People do more
Business with friends than with their enemies. Care about your customers.
Yes. Being is the first step.
Great tip Linda.
It’s a great tip reinforce the idea that “Stuck isn’t OK” – Momentum matters!, and if a ‘don’t do’ list shifts something – Thank goodness!
I never thought of making a don’t want to do list. Makes sense to put energy into what you like.
Linda,
This is a timely post for me as I have been asking myself some of those questions this past week. It is easy to be busy and not always productive isn’t it? A great reminder. Thank you.
